I am cooking for a picnic with my grandson and sons and daughter in law. They are bringing something for themselves, I do plant based, so I am baking a sourdough bread in a loaf pan, and will make some vegan pepperoni for sandwiches. I am making a Turkish coleslaw recipe I saw and felt will ok, what could be better for a picnic? My daughter in law is a Kurdish Iranian American who is a fabulous cook. My sons had an Iranian dad so they appreciate good home cooking. Our mealtimes are always fun. And they love in&out burgers so, they may get a big bag of burgers and fries. Cooking for children is always a challenge but I have found that once they see all the big people eating it, they generally want to at least try it so they feel a part of it. Otherwise, heck, make something they pretty much always like and give them some fresh fruit so at least they have their vitamins haha. I never worried that much, I just kept cooking stuff and they wanted to eat what they were smelling.

I am grateful they learned to love good food.
